WHAT IS TUMESCENT LIPOSUCTION?

Tumescent Liposuction is a popular and minimally invasive lipo-sculpting procedure, performed by a healthcare experience doctor, with the purpose to remove unwanted fat, that has resistant to diet, and exercise.

Tumescent Lipo uses a high-precision vibration technology which allows the removal of fat cells in the target areas, without damaging the nearby blood vessels, connective tissues, and nerves.

Using a special solution called Tumescent solution, a special cannula, and vibration technology, fat cells are broken down and removed from the body through a suction process.

The vibration technology aids in precision during the procedure, as well as pain control during and after the procedure.  It is also stimulating collagen production, resulting in tighter skin for many patients.

Tumescent Liposuction Procedure

How is the Procedure Performed?

After your initial consultation, after being deemed a good candidate for Tumescent Lipo, the patient care coordinator will schedule the procedure and give you the pre-procedural instructions.

The procedure takes about 3-4 hours, more or less depending on how many body areas are being targeted and the amount of fat that needs to be removed.

After the target area is marked, a couple of local small injections of Lidocaine are done, and small puncture sites(3mm) are made, which are used as entry points for the cannulas during the infiltration and suction process.

The tumescent solution, containing saline, Lidocaine (numbing solution), and Epinephrine (vasoconstricting solution), is infiltrated into the target area using a special cannula and vibration technology, which allows the breaking of the fat tissue and provides local anesthesia. This is called the infiltration process.

After adequate local anesthesia is obtained, using a different cannula, and the same high-vibration technology in combination with suctioning, the broken fat cells are removed and collected into a closed system.

At the end of the procedure, the puncture sites will remain open and a small amount of drainage will continue for up to a couple of days.

The puncture sites will be covered with absorbent pads and a compression garment will be applied prior to leaving.

What Are the Benefits of Tumescent Lipo Over Other Liposuction Procedures?

There is minimal downtime. The patient can get up and walk around immediately after the procedure is completed.

Most patients can return to work within 36 hours without using pain medication.

This procedure does not require general anesthesia. Pain control is achieved by the local anesthetic in Tumescent solution(Lidocaine), which is infiltrated in the fat area that needs to be removed during the first part of the procedure.

The patient is awake during the entire procedure, which gives the advantage of actively participating in achieving the end result.

Patients can visually inspect the dynamic results during the procedure.

The procedure does not involve heat, therefore, there is no risk of burning or heat injury.

The vibration technology, and certain elements in Tumescent solution, significantly reduce the risks of scarring, bruising, and unnatural bumps and lumps after treatment.

TUMESCENT LIPOSUCTION FAQs

What to expect from Tumescent Lipo?

Tumescent liposuction involves injecting a large volume of diluted local anesthesia to numb the area and shrink blood vessels, allowing for easier fat removal. It typically reduces pain, has minimal bleeding, and has faster recovery than traditional liposuction.

What is the pre-care procedure for Tumescent Lipo?

Before tumescent liposuction, patients typically undergo a consultation, discuss their medical history and goals, receive preoperative instructions, and may be asked to avoid certain medications and supplements.

What is the post-care procedure for Tumescent Lipo?

After tumescent liposuction, patients may wear compression garments, follow a prescribed pain management plan, attend follow-up appointments, and avoid strenuous activities.
They should maintain proper hygiene, keep the incision sites clean, and follow the surgeon’s instructions for optimal healing and recovery.

Is Tumescent Lipo Painful?

Tumescent liposuction is typically well-tolerated due to the numbing effect of local anesthesia. Patients may experience some discomfort or soreness after the procedure, but it is generally less painful than traditional liposuction techniques.

Our doctors are readily available to address all your questions and concerns. Ensuring your safety is our utmost priority. We employ micro incisions during the procedure to provide you with a painless experience.
